Fast Bowling

Fast bowling is a rhythm skill before it is a strength skill. Pace comes from a repeatable run-up, a strong braced front leg and a hip and shoulder sequence that fires in the right order. Control comes from a consistent release point, which is why bowlers who chase speed alone usually lose their line first. Work in that order: rhythm, then release, then variations. Each guide below fixes one specific fault so you can practise it on its own before putting the whole action back together.

Start with your run-up and release, then add yorkers, bouncers and slower balls once your stock ball lands where you want it.
